one little word
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow. Today I want to introduce you to the idea that a single word can be a catalyst for enriching your life as well as your scrapbook layouts. Last year I began a tradition of choosing one word for myself each January - a word that I can focus on, mediate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life. Last year my word was something I wanted to bring into my life in a more tangible way. It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be a thought or a feeling or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key is to find something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother's word or your spouse's word or your child's word - this is YOUR word. (You can read the whole article here.)

So I am VERY excited to put this idea into action in my life! I have a very hard time setting goals. To me, in my mind GOAL=FAILURE. I wish that wasn't so. I just know that I tend to give things up too quickly. I tend not to stick to things like I should. This is not something I am bragging about. So I feel like maybe this is a way to set goals without actually attaching that word to it, so my subconscious won't attach that meaning to it. (I hope) I have been thinking about a word for this year.

STOP...and think before I act or say something I will regret
STOP....and smell the roses
STOP....yelling
STOP....stressing about things
STOP....worrying about things I have no control over
STOP....letting little things bother me
STOP....filling my time with unimportant things
STOP....being negative
STOP....yelling
STOP....stressing about things
STOP....worrying about things I have no control over
STOP....letting little things bother me
STOP....filling my time with unimportant things
STOP....being negative
Oh could the list go on and on and on!! I know that throughout the year I will be able to expound on this. And I'm sure that as I put it to use in my life I will learn from it as well. I can't wait!!!
Ready...Set...Stop!!!
Ready...Set...Stop!!!

You chose a great word! It's one I can certainly apply in my life as well!
Your blog is so cute... you are going to have to teach me how to make such a cute page! I also love the word "stop", because sometimes things get overwhelming and the words "stop" and "help" become two very important words. I'm doing better with "stop", but I've still got a lot of practice to do with "help".Good thought!
You keep at it honey! You are the best. Don't give up!
Lot's of love!
What a good word! I love it! And you blog is cute - don't worry about it anymore!
