It was a brilliant idea to have the whole ward sing with the primary children during the nativity. The primary didn't have very much time to practice for the ward party. So they didn't know the songs very well. It was one of the cutest nativities I have ever seen. They had a Mary, Joseph, Donkey, & Wise Men. And anyone who wasn't one of those......If you were a girl-you were an angel, & if you were a boy- you were a shepherd.
At the very beginning they had all of the nursery children get on the stage and sing 2 songs. That was cute. I think there was only 1 child actually singing. After that they had the primary come out. At one point they had all of the children come on the stage. By the end of the nativity all of them were gathered in so close that you could no longer see Mary Joseph and baby Jesus. They were all trying to see inside the manger. It was really sweet to see all of these children crowded into that little stable. And as the Primary President said- They were "focusing"on Jesus.
Oh that we may all "focus" on Jesus this coming year!
Addie's comment after it was all over was that she didn't like just standing on the stage. She needed to have speaking part. And it was boring because she didn't get to have one. It was funny to listen to what she went through up on the stage in her own little words. Of course we forgot the camera...even after Ammon went home a second time to get something else ,we forgot, and I reminded him to get it. Oh well. The pics I did get were from my phone. So sorry about the quality. Mostly I took them for my own happiness anyway.
At the end Santa came. Ephriam was sooo funny. Santa talked to him, and Ephriam closed his eyes tight as if to say, "If I can't see you, you can't see me!" But once Santa was sitting down in his chair Ephriam stood there in line and watched, with inerest, all of the other kids sitting on his lap. By the time it was Addie & Ephriam's turn he was happy to sit there. And then he didn't want to get down when his turn was over.
So to those who were in charge of putting the whole thing together ('cause I know some of you occasionally look at this blog)- you did a great job this year! It was wonderful!!!

the one in the blue hat is Eph
the nursery leaders, down in front, doing the actions to the songs

addie being bored because she didn't have a speaking part

see all the angels & shepherds on either side of the stable, right before they all "closed ranks"
