For about the last month I have been wondering where my baby has gone. It makes me want to cry every time I think of it. One morning I woke up and all of a sudden I had a little boy. How does that happen over night?! REALLY?
He has been so funny. In his mind he is probably already 10 or something. He thinks he can do ANYTHING. And tries to. It makes me crazy!
Just to illustrate my point of how funny he has been:
Since the girl has gone back to school he has to get up & get dressed, complete with shoes and backpack....just like sister. Even though he knows he doesn't get to go with her. But he's going to be ready JUST. IN. CASE. Because- you never know.
He has been talking like nothing. And he tells me stories the whole day long. In the car, if he hasn't fallen asleep, he's talking. And I really don't know where these stories come from. The girl had to clarify one for us this afternoon. He was telling us all about the giwl (girl) & bo (boy) fell in the lake and they had to get out and throw a rock at the bad guy. Come to find out it was from a show he was watching right before we got in the car- Rupert. (It's on Qubo, channel 51.2, for those of you who have cable & don't know about Rupert)
And all he wants to do is wear the same 2 shirts & the same 2 shorts EVERY day. And if that's not what I dress him in, at some point during the day he will go and get them to put them on. What is so magical about this clothing? It's those net fabric "basketball" shorts, and shirts with baseballs or basketballs on them. And we only have 2 of either kind. OH- and what does he carry around in his backpack all day? BALLS OF COURSE! or his "shooting gun" as he calls it. (a nerf gun that is missing the darts, that my grandma got for him at DI)
AND since the girl's birthday is at the end of this week we have had non stop talk of what people want for their birthday. The boy gets involved as well. Because he can't be left out! So when we are at the store (WalMart) and the children just HAVE to go look at the toys, the girl goes straight for the dolls, MLP (My Little Pony for those of you who are not savvy to all things having to do with horses, ponies, or unicorns- like we are at our house), Littlest pet shop, and the like. The boy has started going straight for the guns, swords, action figures, and the like. How did he ever learn this stuff? We never had that kind of stuff around (since we had the girl first, obviously we had "girl" stuff) But he wants all of those "boy" type toys now. He is not satisfied playing with ponies any longer. But he does still love his baby doll.
And to top it all off- he has been JUMPING off everything that is elevated. This includes couches, benches, beds, curbs, and his dad. And loves jumping ON stuff as well. But mostly contains it to beds, couches, and his dad. And as a fitting way to end this post- here is a short video of him jumping on MY bed.

that video was so cute. Dave watched it with me and we both laughed. He's so silly. Its so funny how kids like to do the same thing over and over
So cute! I still remember his first day at church, when he was so tiny. And thinking about that day makes me think of my own little guy, who was not much older than him.
a- everyone hates hearing their voice on a recording...it's the law!
b- i miss that kid terribly! thanks for adding the video, because i think i miss hearing his voice the most. it seriously could've gone on for several minutes, and i still would've watched it over and over!
c- how in the heck do kids (esp. boys) do that kinda' stuff w/ not only sustaining from serious injuries, but also not feeling the aches and pains from it the next day?? i lifted weights yesterday and my muscles are so sore. heaven only knows how i'd be feeling if i threw myself face first into a pillow at full force! maybe that's why God makes it unappealing to adults...He knows our bodies can handle it anymore!

That boy just cracks me up! Jake is really into the "boy"toys too. I don't get it! They just KNOW that stuff is made for them. see ya tomorrow!
